Home for the Holidays
Join us in the village where "time stood still" to experience an early Americana Christmas at the annual Home for the Holidays on Saturday, December 2 from Noon p.m. to 4 p.m. Tour the houses in Elsah adorned in their finest holiday decorations. Tickets for the house tour are $15 per person and may be purchased in advance in Elsah or at the Alton Visitors Center, 200 Piasa St. Tickets are $18 the day of the event.
Bethalto Christmas Village
Visit Santa and Mrs. Claus, enjoy a petting zoo, view lavishly decorated cottages and more during the Second Annual Bethalto Christmas Village. Every Friday and Saturday evening through Dec. 16, Central Park in Bethalto will be transformed into a Christmas Village. This family-friendly event is free.
Bethalto Spirit Victorian Christmas Walk
On Sunday, December 10 from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m., the town of Bethalto will be transformed into a Victorian village for the annual Bethalto Spirit of Christmas Walk. Stroll candlelit streets, climb aboard a horse-drawn carriage and experience the camaraderie of life in a small town Victorian village. Bell choirs and strolling musicians add to the Victorian flair. Visit Father Christmas and enjoy wassail, roasted chestnuts and many holiday treats. The event is free. Choral concerts will take place at 3:30 p.m. and 7 p.m.
More than 4 million lights sparkle throughout Christmas Wonderland in Alton's Rock Spring Park. Lighted displays line the roadways and visitors of all ages are transported into enchanted and magical Christmas scenes. Admission: Suggested donations of $7 per car or $1 per person for vehicles with 10 or more people.
