Be Scare'd in Grafton
Ghouly, ghostly or just plain fun ... the scarecrows come out to play in Grafton throughout October during the annual Grafton Scarecrow Contest.
Starting Oct. 4, residents, businesses and civic organizations have scarecrow-themed displays located on sidewalks, in parks and at stores throughout the riverfront community. The displays are part of a contest where the best creative display wins a $300 first prize.
This is the third year for the contest which celebrates the Halloween season.
"This is always a great way to decorate the town with fall colors and invite residents and visitors to view the creativity of contest participants," said Jamie Clayton, president of the Grafton Chamber.
Scarecrow displays remain up through Halloween.
