Lincoln, The Great Communicator

This free theatrical style program is presented as a casual conversation between President Lincoln, portrayed by Lincoln Impersonator George Buss, and folklorist Chris Vallillo. Combining live period music by Vallillo with conversation and narrative by President Lincoln, the performance explores Lincoln’s personal and political communication. Vallillo will perform on the guitar, bottleneck slide Dobro, banjo and jaw harp. Buss will present his narrative using Lincoln’s own words from speeches.

Few individuals have so profoundly influenced American history as did Abraham Lincoln. Millions around the world are inspired by the story of Lincoln’s rise from humble beginnings to President of the United States. His qualities of integrity, courage, and his decisive leadership carried a fragile nation through one of its most trying periods.

Admission is free. Light refreshments will be served.

This event is presented by the Looking For Lincoln Heritage Coalition and Great Rivers & Routes Tourism Bureau. For more information phone 618-465-6676.
