Big Burgers Within Blocks For Just A Couple Bucks

Americans love their cheeseburgers and fries! When you are visiting a place, you always want to look for that special diner where locals go to eat that are not part of the chains.

Good news! Alton is filled with many one of a kind dining experiences. Many visitors come into the Alton Visitor Center looking for a great place to eat and often looking for that perfect burger.

For just a couple of bucks, you can feed an insatiable appetite with some of the best burgers around. It’s also quite convenient that within just a couple blocks you can find two well knownoffer great burgers at an unbelievable price. For many years, Fast-Eddie’s Bon Air, located at 1530 E. 4th Street (at the intersection of Broadway, Pearl and 4th Street) in Alton, Illinois, has been the home of the inexpensive half-pound hamburger, along with many other favorites like the peel-n-eat shrimp, pork kabobs, hot chick-on-a-stick and the Big Elwood.

The free popcorn and coldest beer around has kept people coming back for more, not to mention the great outdoor beer garden, music and dance floor that literally use to be part of the street. This place is a visitor favorite and serves up an incredible cheeseburger, called the Fat Eddie Burger.

Riverbend Billiards and Grill located at 909 East Broadway in Alton, Illinois has been serving up quarter pound or half pound burgers at a good price for many years as well. The menu at Riverbend Billiards offers a good variety of options, but the affordable burger is a visitor favorite. Once you place your order at the bar, the cooks put the order on the grill and within minutes a well-cooked flame broiled burger is ready to eat.

Either before or after your lunch or dinner, you might want to play a game of pool, with the area’s largest collection of pool tables. Or, you might try your hand a darts or other electronic fun.

Both of these places really offer must taste delights for everyone. You place your order at any of these places and they will call your number when your eats are ready. If you haven’t been to these places before, give them a try. If you have, I think it is time to head there for dinner!
