The Alton Regional Convention & Visitors Bureau is a destination marketing organization serving northern Madison, Jersey and Calhoun Counties. Founded in 1985, the bureau was established to educate visitors about the many attractions the region has to offer by providing information regarding the area's history, unique landmarks, recreational opportunities, leisure attractions, special events and scenic marvels. The Alton Regional Convention & Visitors Bureau is certified by the Illinois Office of Tourism.
To build public awareness of the many tourism assets in northern Madison, Jersey, Calhoun and Macoupin Counties; to actively create and distribute marketing collateral to encourage new tourists to visit the region; and to enthusiastically assist in development of new or enhanced tourism products, as defined by public and private initiatives as well as maintain a competitive edge in the marketplace.
To provide world class destination marketing leadership that improves this region's quality of life and economic vitality.
