Golf Pebble Beach in Godfrey

Have you ever wanted to play a round of golf on the famous Pebble Beach Golf Links?

If you're a fan of the sport then of course you have! How about playing Pebble Beach in the comfort of Godfrey, IL?

Scot Roper, owner of Roper’s Regal Beagle, 3043 Godfrey Rd, Godfrey, is putting a fresh spin on “thinking green.” Inside the Beagle’s new private building attached to the outside patio, two PGA sanctioned golf simulators allow golfers to play over 70 world renowned courses.

“With so many professional courses to choose from and extra games like ski ball and putt-putt, it’s something to do in the winter when you’re bored,” says Roper.

While the newest addition to the sports bar and grill is highly entertaining, Andrew Garrett, waiter at the Regal Beagle and frequent user of the simulators, says that it’s also taking the world of virtual reality to new levels of engagement.

“You even get to pick what kind of terrain you play on and what the weather will be,” says Garrett. “So you can practice for conditions such as harsh winds or even rain.”

The 22-foot curved indoor simulators offer technical information and vital statistics such as swing speed and distance control. These measurements allow golfers to not only practice their game, but also enhance it.

Briana Kinkel, bartender at Roper’s for more than four years, says that the hype about these simulators is not fading anytime soon.

“You’re able to learn more about your game than you would by just playing a regular round of golf,” says Kinkel. “And that’s what I think is the biggest attraction to the simulators and that’s what will have people coming back again and again, even on warm and sunny days.”

An hour of golf costs $40 and a half hour costs $20. Clubs are available to use, but it is recommended that golfers bring their own in order to improve their game.

Swing by the Beagle for great food and exceptional entertainment for the youngest, the oldest and everyone in between.
